Finally, while the cities are among the largest and most populous in the country, California has plenty of open space to explore, with literally millions of acres of wilderness. Just a couple of hours drive out of the cities, you can be in one of the famous parks including Redwoods, Yosemite, Death Valley, Sequoia or dozens of others.
