Join the largest, most integrated health care system throughout north central Indiana and southwestern Michigan. The schedule is approximately 183 shifts per year, with mainly days, but some nights are required, 9 or 10 hour shifts allow for a great quality of life with a flexible schedule for ample time off, low census, and rounding shifts. International airport, 20 miles to the Lake Michigan shoreline and 90 miles to Chicago!

Practice details include:

  • Affiliation with Indiana University School of Medicine at Notre Dame and Memorial Hospital Family Medicine Residency Allows for Teaching of Residents, Medical Students and Supervision of Post-Graduate Trainees
  • Procedures Not Required, but Available if Desired
  • Open ICU with Full Time 24/7 Intensivist
  • Unique Model is Separation of Call and Rounding Shifts, Allowing Hospitalists to Focus on Patient Care without Interruption
  • Not Responsible for CODE BLUE, RAT Call, or CODE Stroke
  • Cluster Shifts or 7 on/7 off Option

Pros of raising a family in Indiana: For many physicians this is a major concern with relocating. Indiana is a fantastic place to raise a family for a number of reasons. Indiana is generally safe, with friendly communities compared to other geographic regions. Plenty of big city access- many Hoosiers live in suburban towns or commuting distance to cities including Indianapolis, Fort Wayne, Evansville, Cincinnati, Louisville or Chicago. Many of the rest live in college/university towns such as Lafayette, Bloomington, Muncie or South Bend. Having access to great city amenities and fantastic higher education options in state is just one more perk on the list for Indiana!
