About Illinois

Google Map

Illinois, the 5th largest state in the country, is typically the most popular state in the Midwest for relocation from large East and West Coast cities, primarily due to the interest in Chicago and its suburbs. Midwesterners know that there are many other interesting parts of Illinois, from other mid-sized cities such as Rockford and Peoria, to college towns including Champaign-Urbana and Bloomington-Normal, home to the University of Illinois and Illinois State University, respectively. The Chicago suburbs stretch upwards practically to Wisconsin, and south to Indiana. While Chicago is a beautiful and attractive city, you might be surprised about the earnings and quality of life you can find in Illinois if you look outside of the metro area.
